Experiencing Life from Your Dog’s Perspective

Have you ever wondered what the world looks like through your dog’s eyes? Try this simple exercise:

Lie down on the floor. What do you see? You might notice chair legs, shoes scattered around, the texture of the carpet, or even a little dust hidden in the corners.

What do you smell? Maybe it’s the lingering scent of floor cleaner, the mustiness of old carpet, the familiar odor of pets, or even a hint of your own scent lingering in the space.

What do you feel beneath you? Perhaps it's hard tiles, polished wood, or the comfort of a soft carpet or bed. Can you sense vibrations from footsteps echoing through the floor, or perhaps from nearby neighbors?

Now, listen closely. What do you hear? The hum of cars outside, distant conversations, footsteps across the house, birds chirping, the whirl of the washing machine, or even the faint sound of music. Perhaps you hear other dogs barking in the distance.

What can you do in this space? Think about what’s within your reach. Is there something to chew on, play with, or investigate? Where could you relieve yourself if you had to? Are you entertained, or do you feel bored?

This is your dog’s experience, day in and day out! By imagining the world from their perspective, we can improve their quality of life.

Dog training has evolved significantly. It’s no longer about strict rules, harsh corrections, or constant “no’s.” Back then, neither dogs nor humans truly enjoyed the process, and training was often restricted to a walk down the street.

Today’s modern approach to training is all about understanding and fulfilling your dog’s needs. We focus on guiding them positively, helping them learn how to navigate our world safely and happily.

Reach out to us and discover how we can strengthen the bond between you and your dog in a way that’s fun, rewarding, and enjoyable for both of you.
